The Marketplace connects you directly with other members who are listing books. This is perfect for finding specific titles that might not be available in the central library.
1. Browsing & Making Offers #
- Finding Books: Use the Marketplace (
) to browse listings. You can filter by Genre, Condition, or Location to find sellers near you.
- Placing a Request:
- When you see a book you want, click the listing to view details.
- If the seller has enabled it, you might be able to Negotiate the point price or offer a Trade (swapping one of your books for theirs).
- Otherwise, simply click “Request” to agree to the listed price.
2. Communication & Coordination #
Once a request is made, a private communication channel opens between you and the seller.
- Messaging: Use the built-in Messaging System (
) to arrange pickup times, verify book condition, or discuss shipping details.Please log in to view your messages.
Log In - Safety: Always communicate within the platform. This ensures our support team can help if a dispute arises.
3. Completing an Exchange & Ratings #
- Handover:
- Shipping: If shipping was selected, the seller will provide a tracking number.
- Pickup: If meeting in person, check the book’s condition before confirming.
- Confirming Receipt: As the buyer, you must log in and mark the transaction as “Received”. This releases the points from Escrow to the seller.
- Rating: After the exchange, you will be asked to rate the seller (1-5 stars) on Communication, Item Accuracy, and Shipping Speed. Your feedback helps keep the community safe and reliable.
